No television; oil lamps for lighting, hot water and fires to keep the cottage warm in winter. At Cloud Cottage, we offer a restful holiday secluded in the Outeniqua Mountains, with soul-restoring views, gentle streams, indigenous fynbos vegetation and majestic walks on our farm.

Being within easy reach of Knysna and Plettenberg Bay to the south and the Cango Caves and ostrich farms to the north, there are many wonderful places to see, or activities to choose from.
The space
The estate was, up until recently, a family-run biodynamic dairy farm. With the hustle and bustle of farming activity coming to a halt, the land is now utilized solely for relaxation and restoration.

Clean, well-behaved dogs that do not sleep on the beds are welcome.

Guest access
The estate is located on the Prince Alfred Pass. It is quite a steep road, so drive slowly. Hoot as a precaution, as you drive around corners, because the road is very narrow.

Other things to note
There is no electricity nor cell reception. Wood, firelighters and matches are provided. There is a donkey and a fire can be made in it, to heat water for the bath and kitchen sink. There are candles, paraffin lamps and torches provided. A head torch is a useful thing to bring along!

A steep scramble down the hillside leads you to a little rock pool to admire. A longer walk along the hill, leads you to a series of smaller pools and trickling waterfalls. There is so much natural beauty to enjoy here as well as plenty of fresh air. Live in the stone and clouds the all-natural way.
